Who doesn't like prawns? Almost all non-vegetarians love to eat prawns. There are different types of prawn recipes starting from curries to soups, and fries to kebabs. Today I have brought for you another delicious prawn recipe with a slightly different taste that everyone will love.

Ingredients required for making crispy golden fried prawns are mentioned below:

  • Prawns (Tiger Prawns) - 300 to 400 grams
  • Turmeric  Powder - ¼  teaspoon
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
  • Corn flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Flour (Maida) - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger paste - ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic paste - ½ teaspoon
  • Refined oil for frying
  • Egg - 1
  • Schezuan Sauce - ½ teaspoon

Process

Step I: Cleaning and Marinating the Prawns

  1. Take about 300 to 400 grams of prawns.
  2. Clean the prawns properly after removing their shells and deveining them.
  3. Devein the prawns properly. Each prawn has a vein on its back, which needs to be removed prior to cooking by making a slit on the back and cleaning it.
  4. You can either keep or exclude the prawn head as you wish. Its edible.
  5. Now the prawns should be washed three or four times properly with water. Then drain the water and keep it in a bowl.
  6. Marinate the prawns with ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step II: Batter Preparation

  1. In a separate bowl, take two tablespoons of cornflour, 2 tablespoons of flour (maida), ½ teaspoon of ginger paste, ½ teaspoon of garlic paste, ¼ teaspoon of salt, ¼ teaspoons of black pepper powder, and ½ teaspoon Schezuan sauce.
  2. Now add an egg in the same bowl, beat it well, and make a batter. It would be better to mix the batter with egg alone without water.
Step III: Frying
  1. Heat any refined oil for frying in a kadhai or fry pan.
  2. Dip the prawns one by one in the prepared batter and add to the pan for frying. However, fry the prawns in small batches so that they do not stick to each other.
  3. Fry both sides of the prawns for 1 minute each on low flame, till they get a golden color.
  4. Take the beautiful crispy golden fried prawns out of the pan and serve hot.
