And I can definitely say that this is a recipe for a great-to-eat snack for Moody Foodies.
So, let's make 10 Basella Leaf pakoras for which the ingredients and recipe are discussed below:
Ingredients:
Gram flour (Besan)
25-30 Medium-sized soft Basella Leaves (Pui Leaves or Malabar Spinach)
Corn Flour
Salt
Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
Chilli Powder
Sugar
Baking Soda
Chat Masala
Vegetable Oil (Refined Sunflower Oil/ Soyabean Oil/ Rice Bran Oil/ Safflower Oil etc.)
Recipe:
For making this simple recipe we need to follow two simple steps as discussed below:
Step 1: Batter Preparation
- Wash each Basella leaf (Pui leaf) separately with water for cleaning properly.
- Soak each leaf in a container with ice water for 10 minutes.
- Take a bowl and pour 100 g of besan, 2 tablespoon corn flour, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt,1/2 teaspoon chat masala, and a pinch of baking soda in it.
- Add 1/2 cup water to the bowl and mix to form a thick batter. Ensure that the consistency of the batter is thick for forming the coating of the pakoras.
Now your batter for the pakoras is ready.
Step 2: Making the crispy fried Basella Pakoras
- Take a pan suitable for deep frying and place it on the gas or induction oven for heating it.
- Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan and heat it.
- Take 2-3 medium-sized soft basella leaves (for each pakora), place over one another and dip them in the prepared batter such that the set of leaves get entirely covered in the batter.
- Place each coated leaf set for making pakoras in the frying pan and fry till they get golden brown. Then carefully take them out of the frying pan and place them on the plate.
Your crispy basella leaf pokaras are ready to serve. Enjoy with your favorite sauce.
