Raw Mango Chutney
Most of us like to eat
raw mangoes on summer days. Raw mangoes are also very beneficial for our body
as they are full of numerous vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C. So today I
am sharing with you a short recipe made with raw mangoes - Raw Mango Chutney.
This raw mango chutney can be cooked with some
readily available ingredients found in everyone's home.
Ingredients
- Raw Mango - 1 (Medium Sized)
- Oil - (1 teaspoon)
- Dried chilli - 1
- Black mustard seeds - (¼ teaspoon)
- Salt – (½ teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder - (¼ teaspoon)
- Sugar - 50 g
- Water - 150 to 200 ml
Steps
1. First, take a raw mango, peel its skin, remove
its seed, and cut it into long slices.
2. Take some water in a bowl and immerse the mango
slices in it.
3. Add a pinch of salt and turmeric to it and soak for
at least 15 minutes.
4. Now, heat a pan, and add 1 teaspoon of oil to it.
5. When the oil gets hot, add 1 dried chilli (without
seeds) and ¼ teaspoon of black mustard seeds to it. Stir it. Let the
mustard seeds crackle beautifully.
6. Drain the water from the soaked mangoes, and add the
mango slices to the pan. Stir for some time.
7. Add ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp turmeric powder to the
pan. Stir it.
8. Now add 150 to 200 ml of water. Cook covered for 2
minutes on low flame.
9. Open the lid of the pan, add 50g of sugar to it.
Stir and cook for 1 minute more so that the sugar melts and the chutney boils
perfectly.
10.Finally,
switch off the flame. Cool the raw mango chutney and serve it in a glass dish
to enjoy as a perfect accompaniment with any meal.
