Most of us like to eat raw mangoes on summer days. Raw mangoes are also very beneficial for our body as they are full of numerous vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C. So today I am sharing with you a short recipe made with raw mangoes - Raw Mango Chutney.

This raw mango chutney can be cooked with some readily available ingredients found in everyone's home.

Ingredients

  • Raw Mango - 1 (Medium Sized)
  • Oil - (1 teaspoon)
  • Dried chilli - 1
  • Black mustard seeds - (¼ teaspoon)
  • Salt – (½ teaspoon)
  • Turmeric powder - (¼ teaspoon)
  • Sugar - 50 g
  • Water - 150 to 200 ml

Steps

1. First, take a raw mango, peel its skin, remove its seed, and cut it into long slices.

2. Take some water in a bowl and immerse the mango slices in it.

3. Add a pinch of salt and turmeric to it and soak for at least 15 minutes.

4. Now, heat a pan, and add 1 teaspoon of oil to it.

5. When the oil gets hot, add 1 dried chilli (without seeds) and  ¼ teaspoon of black mustard seeds to it. Stir it. Let the mustard seeds crackle beautifully.

6. Drain the water from the soaked mangoes, and add the mango slices to the pan. Stir for some time.

7. Add ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp turmeric powder to the pan. Stir it.

8. Now add 150 to 200 ml of water. Cook covered for 2 minutes on low flame.

9. Open the lid of the pan, add 50g of sugar to it. Stir and cook for 1 minute more so that the sugar melts and the chutney boils perfectly.

10.Finally, switch off the flame. Cool the raw mango chutney and serve it in a glass dish to enjoy as a perfect accompaniment with any meal.
